The only parts of this show that I enjoy are those centered around Midge’s stand-up act. Couldn’t care less about the storylines for her parents, in-laws, and least of all her whiny, cringe-worthy ex-husband Joel. The musical montages seem to be vehicle for making what should be a snappy 30 minute show into a hour long dramedy.
