Engaging, engrossing. Challenging of perspectives and biases and excellent performances from all the cast, particularly the lead actor.

Slow ponderous build up. In terms of film noir type the last 20 minutes from the insurance man onwards were watchable. It just was so juxtaposed to the story of the African American family a harrowing story in its self set the middle of this . A tale of cruelty all round on the boy, the Afro-American neighbours and sometimes on us viewers. Missed opportunity.
