Honestly after reading the comments I can see both sides. For the good: if you haven't read the books it was pretty good some things could have been better but it wasn't awful. It seems like most people like it better if they haven't read the books. For the bad: it doesn't follow the books at all. It's like they read a quick summary and went off that. It was infuriating that they couldn't include some small details (like yellow v.s. gold). I agree that the casting wasn't great. They didn't seem real. They were saying the script but not acting. My personal favorite part was at the mall cuz even though it didn't follow the book it showed how close they all were. Clearly I am a little biased but I definitely recommend the books over the movie. They're just better.
