Now we've had 3 Equalizer films this could be called a prequel ,as Denzel becomes the avenging angel of death ,like McCall ,in eliminating the kidnappers of "his little girl" who showed him "what it was to live again".Coolly, calm, methodically he drives along the tense narrative ,wonderfully shot around Mexico City ,with explosive action and inevitable ending ,which is beautifully delivered. As in all his films Denzel commands the story - you can't take your eyes off him ,the mark of a movie legend like Eastwood,Caine,de Niro ,Bette Davis,Bogart ,Monroe,Cagney to name just a few of why we love the movies to take us places we love to be - but only on screen !! Cos to really be in Man on Fire's world is far too scary for me.Dakota Fanning is the only person who's almost upstaged Denzel .Good to see she's carried her promise on ,by sparring with him again in Equalizer 4.
