I have to agree with a lot of other reviewers that Reptile simply fails to deliver. It kept my attention mostly because of Del Torro's acting which was fascinating to watch. But too many items the plot drew your attention too were left going agonizingly nowhere.
Why was the subject murder so brutal, Make no mistake, this film is at its core a murder investigation (that eventually goes sideways) with no one actually pinned for the murder itself. Uh hello!!
Why so many sidetracks? - the home repairs, the motion activated faucet, the non affair of the builder and the leads wife, the nightmare, the suspect with a limp, the bite marks, the odd paint, the church and pastor....I could on and on.
And what happened to the poor sap who seemed to know everything that was actually going on?
Too much left for the imagination. Maybe that was intended but it was just toooo much. I eventually felt like I had wasted over 2 hours of my time that will never be recouped.....
