I watched this movie last night on Disney plus with my family since we haven’t gone to the theaters for almost 2 years due to the ongoing pandemic and it’s deadly variant. I find it an amazing fun film to watch if you are interested in adventure films. The Rock and Emily Blunt did a real excellent job on their characters, especially Paul Giamatti which I found him very hilarious. It kinda gives in some 90s/2000s movie vibes such as The Mummy and Pirates of the Caribbean with an Indiana Jones trope. While i enjoyed the film, I found some flaws such as the CGI and the villain. The special effects can be good at a time, but some of it felt overused and rushed at the same time. Also, the villain felt pretty generic. He’s basically Arnold Toht (from Indiana Jones) with a cartoony stereotype who acts like the Tree of Life were a room full of gold like Scrooge McDuck. Maybe that’s just me lol? The action feels like your at an amusement park (which the film is based off a ride at Disneyland) where you cannot get enough. I was also surprised how Metallica (my favorite band) got involved with James Newton Howard with a badass cover for Nothing Else Matters. It was so epic. I would recommend you guys to watch Jungle Cruise in theaters if you feel safe or on Disney plus if you don’t feel safe.
On a scale, I’ll give this movie a 7/10.
