This is a great adaptation. Sure there are weaknesses. Adapting an animated show into a live action show is a very tall task but the team has done a great job at it. The story is well re-crafted to be told in a shorter time span. They have kept the most important events as is and rearranged the order of some events to service new viewers which I feel is a fine thing to do. The CGI work has its highs and lows. Fire, Air, and Earth bending is well designed. Water feels a little to "sticky". The animation of humans in combat feels a little sluggish and "weighty". Hopefully they listen to public feedback and refine the CGI and other processes. Really looking forward to the next season.

This show is hands down the greatest show on earth. It shows how dark a path a man can take to protect his family. It shows how a hidden anger inside a man can take the form of a monster and unwillingly destroy anyone who comes close to it. It is also an example of how "i did it to protect you" can cross limits of normal behavior. I believe the whole series revolves around just one concept "Trust".
