The movie is shoddy with facts and timelines. From Indira Gandhi's assassination in 1984, within a short time it jumps to MGR's death in 1987, then after the events of 1987, it jumps to Rajiv Gandhi's assassination and 1991 elections. Kangana Ranaut is miscast as Jayalalitha - she neither matched the looks nor could give a believable portrait as a Tamil-speaking leader.
