Unpopular opinion - Top gear is back YES!! We get it the old trio of Clarkson, Hammond and May were extremely good, they had 20+ years to grow into extremely good friends, where they bantered and bullied each other throughout while reviewing cars in a spectacularly entertaining way. However that doesn't mean every version of Top Gear will now be rubbish. I agree the last few attempts have been very 'meh' but the new series, we are seeing three people growing as a trio - and anyone shouting 'bullying' must lead a very very sheltered life or alternatively have not watched the original trio's episodes at all! The show is now funny, it grows better with every episode, it's made up of 2/3 car reviews, a celebrity visit, a trio of different personalities, and as has always been the case for top gear some scripted comedy stunts. Those that say there was no scripting in the original are completely blinkered in my opinion but it was still entertaining. Yes the other two lack the in depth racing / technical knowledge of the cars like Chris does. But the foundations are there, the show is entertaining again, I'm looking forward to Sunday for the release of the next episode and that has not happened for a long time. Only complaint I have is I'd like to see the stigs lap returned to the main show rather than been able to view online. People need to let go of the past Freddie and Paddy are entertaining multiple successful shows have proved that. Working on a car show day in day out, driving, racing, learning thier car knowledge will grow. Much like anybody else that gets a new job in a new area. Stop holding onto the past and accept that things change. TOP GEAR IS BACK!
