A delightful read, took me straight back to the Solent where my husband worked on Howards Way. [He was the boatyard owner Jack Rolfe] One sentence really struck home 'Sailing is like pouring money into a hole in the water'. The very first time we took our boat out from the Marina up the river Hamble towards Southampton Water we went straight over a large piece of blue stuff floating on the water which got tangled up underneath, and meant taking the boat out of the water on a crane to get it all untangled.Add in car engineering, a boatyard, and a great pub, several villains and two dogs, and it turns into a highly entertaining read.Felt like I was back in Hamble Village again!
