'Representation' and 'visibility' are probably the two most important words in the world right now. Stories which showcase these two words are like the antidote to the poison that is consuming a large section of the world today. And in this regard alone, it is such a breath of fresh air to see a hindi movie with principal cast of actors from north east india. (Can't beleiev that finally am able to write this statement) .This should have been enough as a merit in itself but the story, it's treatment and it's very subtle and effective messaging just elevates it to a category of 'essential viewing'. The movie dips slightly in its story movement and cerain character arcs look a bit incomplete however it still is a good movie especially on an OTT platform.

It is remarkable that through the medium of movie a new breed of directors in Malayalam cinema have articulated human stories with ounces of humanity. This movie is just a reflection of that. Brilliantly directed, written and edited, it is a piece of a movie that will stay with you even credits roll. A special mention to the cast who have created characters and their life with so much passion and love. It is one of the best pieces of cinema and a real gem.

The deepest part of the known ocean surface currently is called Mariana trench. Very few people have ever been able to reach it. October is is one of the rarest hindi movies which have ever come close to be poetry and probably one of the only few which can probably match the depth of Mariana trench. It is meditative and quiet. It requires you to be extremely patient and will test you to immerse yourself into it. It is gravely sad but has a shine like none other. It is probably a love story but it sure is about love..
