Its a difficult film to assess as good or bad. It had some strong elements in the actors particularly the young boy and girl but it lacked some cohesiveness and the flow of the film was choppy.The showing of love in the traditional Japanese culture is rather mystical and lovely and nice to watch the visuals.The storyline makes you think about whats the prerequisite for a family and how all kinds of people live together.It had touching moments and the ending leaves you wondering

I found the movie theme with the three main characters and their allegiance to the queen rather interesting and the acting was very good.Thew costumes and staging of the period were fabulous along with the scenery as fellas the cables The film lacked some continuity between scenes and there was a lot of gore and blood depicted A pleasant time and the ending is unexpected but worth seeing just for the costumes
