I approached viewing this production warily, given Netflix's penchant to target an audience not necessarily embued with a sensitivity to classically nuanced theater. I was more than pleasantly surprised after I finished enjoying every one of the 140 minutes in this excellently written, directed and acted film. As to the bleated criticism of too much violence, come on folks, life in the early 15th century wasn't always a picnic, and The King portrays this maybe a bit brutally but with an historically accurate empiricism..
