Flimsy, mannered, all about the prosthetic nose. A cheesy biopic about a great artist. The ending is bizarre. And what’s with the southern accent? Did I say I didn’t like the movie?

Enjoyed it. But like all Lee's films, a little stiff in places and a lot of incomplete acting. Washington, the lead, is still in training. But lots of good messages for America. The movie also reminds us of what lurks in the shadows of Trump''s veiled calls for angry white men to rise again and the dangers that presents even though they can never prevail. Those days are done forever despite what we might think based on our racist national past. I can't wait for Lee's next film One day soon, he will make a masterpiece.
