Really like this drama. Started funny, then romantic, aggressive, worried, sad, depressed, understanding, and lastly, forgiving. It shows all their trials and errors and every character gets a good show time. Director was smart to do that and focused more on the main character. Even the evil Suihe had many screen time. Give it a chance, happy ending. Really good drama with romance. Can't wait for Season 2!!! Spoiler Alert! (Fire vs. Water...who will win?) Here are their identities if anyone gets confused: JinMi: Current Flower Goddess and Water Immortal. Phoenix: Phoenix bird and Dragon. Demon King. Fire. Fish Fairy: Dragon and Fish. Current Emperor of Heaven. Water. Empress: Phoenix bird. From the bird tribe. SuiHe: Bird Princess. From the bird tribe. Emperor: Golden Dragon. Lord Puchi: Water Eel or water snake. Fox Uncle: Cupid or romantic String tying faith and funny and amazing man. Water Immortal: JinMi's Dad. Wind Immortal: JinMi's Stepmom. Flower Goddess: JinMi's mom. The story start off from a boy telling the story of how his mom and dad met and got married. In the beginning, the Flower goddess dies and gives birth to the most beautiful lady, JinMi, in the Heavenly world. Phoenix meets her and falls for her and his half brother, Fish Fairy, did too. Fish Fairy hate that Phoenix was born with everything and wanted to take JinMi away because of jealousy. Initially, Phoenix wanted Fish Fairy to take the thrown and become Emperor, he asked that Fish Fairy give JinMi to him and they would both leave, but Fish Fairy wanted more because of the stupid mistakes he made in the past, like leaving his biological mother to become the Empress's son. Later when he usurped the thrown, JinMi was tricked by a fake dream to think that Phoenix killed her parents. She kills Phoenix and then revived him many years later when she realized she love him only. But things got complicated. JinMi left the heaven world to enter the demon world where Phoenix was now the Demon King. They get married. Fish Fairy gets upset and goes to war from embarrassment, anger, and jealousy and how the news would spread from all the realms. JinMi sacrificed her life to end the war. The heaven world gave her a prize; to be reborn in the human world with all her memories. Phoenix came to get her and after she died as a human being, they will both go up to heaven living as immortal for eternity. The entire story is based on their son's perception. Please note: the book have several happy endings....and the movie did really well.
