Child has written a whole lot of Reacher novels that catch you up with their subtlety, believability and inevitable action.
But it would appear that Child has run out of creative energy/steam. “Blue Moon” lacks all of the above. Reacher’s romantic interest is completely unbelievable from the moment she “snatches” Reacher out of a dark alley (no one “snatches” Reacher like that...he’d rip her arm off!) to her being the smartest member of an Our Gang bunch of nuts.
The gratuitous killing in “Blue Moon” is just tiresome. And this is the first time Jack Reacher just murders helpless bad guys, asking his dim-witted crew “Yes or no?”
I’m done with Reacher, done with Child. I’m embarrassed for Child. This book reads like it was written by a poor algorithm.
