At first, I thought it would be a mockumentary as it's the case with The Rutles, which it's a series of sketches and a couple of feature length movies created by the same people behind Monty Python, showcasing the success, rise and fall that The Beatles dispersed during their careers and it includes interviews with several artist who recall how the existence of The Rutles influenced their lives. That aside, “I wanna hold your hand”, is a picture perfect depiction of what it would have been like for a group of teenagers to experience firsthand rock and roll exhilaration at the hype of Beatle mania, during the days before and up to The Beatles first performance at the Ed Sullivan show in February 1964. It can be viewed as an era film as most of the scenery, wardrobe and language was kept faithful to what was around at the time in the early 1960s, innocence and childish wit thrive. A collection of real life events that have been recounted by actual witnesses of The Beatles performance at the Ed Sullivan show and their stay at the hotel in New York, City, along with factors of fantasy come to play to provide a fun, entertaining and charming story that any Beatle fan wouldn’t want to miss. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.
