The only reason I'm giving this cultural appropriating dumpster fire of a movie one star is because of the tam brahm representation in it, as Bollywood has a habit of turning any South Indian character into pure comic relief. This movie, albeit terribly stereotypical and insulting, atleast had a South Indian lead. However, that is the only thing in the movie that I can speak about without retching. It seems that Vivek Soni's knowledge of Tamil Brahmin culture comes from a quick Wikipedia search and strained stereotypes. I'm sorry, but I do not believe that a South Indian person's identity should be reduced to jigarthanda and Rajnikanth, no matter how well he acts. How would a North Indian person feel like if a movie about them based their identity on lassi and Amitabh Bachan? Not great, I'm guessing. There was also no need to completely speak in English specked with Tamil gone through a food processer. Good god, you appeal to the main audience by communicating to them through their tongue, not some foreign one! And besides, this movie was not created for South Indians to feel included. It was created so North Indians could watch a movie on those South Indians, and think about how wonderfully quaint those village people were. And thus, to anyone who event fantasizes about watching it for even a moment, stop immediately. It is a frightening movie with no plot, hackneyed cliches, and dialogue that makes you gag. I beg of you, people of the internet, don't torture your eyes with such drivel. Stay away from it; far, far away. Such is my warning to you, from one who has seen much too much.
