This game is excellent. The imperfections don't overshadow the depth that the game contains.
Pros
- Rewards time invested: The more you practice and participate in-game with your players is the better they'll perform for you as well as how well you strategize & motivate.
- Beatable: Smash the competition hard enough and you'll become the GOAT in no time. Playoff wins & Super Bowls will take the cake so make sure you perform in the postseason.
- Happy nuances: Work hard to get your office remodeled, fill your trophy case & improve position coaches and coordinators.
Cons
- Not enough GM-like control: You can't change player numbers, affect season ticket prices & stadium renovations or push relocation to the owner.
- Player profiles: Sometimes you have to test the waters to see how some players like to be motivated. If your coach isn't built to be a good motivator, your passive or aggressive reaction to their play could affect the game in a negative way. You don't know what they're receptive to, which is a hindrance as a coach.
- Tedious: If you expect a run-of-the-mill Franchise experience like a conventional Madden NFL game, you are in for a rude awakening. This game goes day by day (literally) and sometimes the activities you're participating in can get monotonous before you reach gameday.
All in all, if you're looking for an in-depth simulation experience from the sideline perspective, this game could be very engaging and rewarding for you.
