I have been binge-watching local BL series and I stumbled upon this gem. It's very light and it's such a feel-good stories, which I appreciate. There are so many stressful things going on amidst the pandemic and watching a series about two guys just crushing on each other is adorable. I've re-watched it a couple of times and I still do re-watch my favorite episodes and scenes. The actors are amazing and they all seem so cool. I just feel bad that the resources became limited due to the pandemic because I'm curious as to what they would have made for 8 episodes. I'm excited for the second season but also scared because the concept sounds so meta. Looking forward for more.

It's refreshing to see gays being portrayed more natural than normal. I'm a huge fan of BL and a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Gays, in Philippine shows or movies, are often portrayed as either older guys who support younger guys or cross-dressers. And if they are portrayed as teenagers or young adults, it often revolves around a sexual relationship. GAMEBOYS provide a really realistic and refreshing take on same sex, specifically boyxboy, relationship. Add up that the story takes place during the peak of the pandemic, where everyone is in strict lockdown. And I love how it also focuses on friendship, family, and subtly of mental health. It's one of my favorite BL series and I wish for Season 2.
