As a Gen Z teenager myself, this show is INCREDIBLY accurate to the high school experience in southern California. I saw pieces of my childhood in almost every episode. Yes there are a few cringe parts, but overall the show presents some pretty deep characters that are all somewhat morally grey. Many people have commented that the teenagers are annoying or whiney, but that’s the whole point! The show is a commentary on how Gen Z has to figure so much out on their own while we are still basically children. It’s quite brilliant and I cannot wait to see more in a potential season 2.
