Jane Fox

I didn’t watch the earlier series when they were originally broadcast but now I am really enjoying them being replayed on The Drama Channel. Great story lines, excellent actors and future stars. Alex Norton was good as DCI Matt Burke but nobody could really replace the pairing of Mark McManus as the cantankerous Jim Taggart and the young James MacPherson as the raw, self-righteous Mike Jardine. Taggart was so credible in his disrespect for his superior officers and downright neglect for his long-suffering wife, Jean, I wanted to slap him and no woman, in her right mind, or a Chief Superintendent, would tolerate behaviour like his today. Just wonderful entertainment.
