Quickly, we become aware of increasing complexity, a miscellany of unlikely characters and locations being added to the mix. Although it is difficult to categorise this strange Antipodean concoction between thriller or black comedy, this is something different to refresh our jaded post-Christmas palates.
But now, five episodes in and only one to go, one finds oneself beleaguered by a kaleidoscope of eye-watering violence, drug-indused imagery and super-foul language.
I'm currently stealing myself for Episode 6 and I'm not expecting survivors.
