Abigail Shrier mixes innuendo with pseudoscience in a one-sided polemic that is as dangerous as it is ill-informed.
She has no relvant expertise in the subject she's writing about, and her assessment of trans youth relies almost exclusively on interviews with parents who reject their childrens' identities. If you don't see why this is bad, imagine a book about female psychology written by a man who didn't speak to any women, but instead merely interviewed their estranged husbands and abusive ex-boyfriends.
Please do not be mislead by the campaign of people giving this book five-star reviews - note how many of them claim that the one-star reviews are from people who haven't read the book. That's called projection.
For anyone looking for an understanding of the (many) problems with this book from a medical perspective, please seek out the review by Jack Turban in Psychology Today - he gives an excellent summary from a qualified perspective.
