The movie manages to combine some degree of lightness in an obviously tragic story. The acting and the script prevented this from becoming “another tearjerker.”

The film does a good job of showing clearly how cancer affects not only the patient
but everyone else in the family. The issue of how far to go with treatment when prognosis is grim will always be a difficult one.
