This is not a movie for everyone. It’s very focused on symbolism and creating atmosphere, and it does this INCREDIBLY well through FANTASTIC cinematography and a WILD soundtrack. It’s been awhile since a movie captured and instigated the feelings of anxiety that I felt at moments in this movie through the various camera angles, shaky shots, and uncontrolled perspectives. The acting is likewise VERY impressive with all the characters being very intriguing and captivating. None of them are flat and boring, but rather they are all very dynamic, making their fair share of mistakes throughout the process of the film. The movie is defs FOCUSED on its worldbuilding, mood, and themes over its story if I’m honest. The story we get is fine, nothing crazy special but it drives the plot foreward in a way that is decent and serves as the catalyst to get our characters from one memorable scene to the next. Some characters make silly decisions along the way that could be portrayed as annoying… and there is one scene in particular that feels kinda confusing/unexplained (I’m talking about the random train baby) but these are small complaints in a movie that is RADIATING with unique style that captures the same feelings as the OG cult classic 28 days later. If you want a mind bending story with massive twists… don’t expect much here. IF you want to watch a masterfully done art piece about a truly terrifying apocalypse that will have you on the edge of your seat either gasping from the stress OR the beauty of some scenes… then you will love this.

Throughly entertaining! Honestly, as a person who enjoyed the Harry Potter movies, I found this to be a very entertaining movie! The special affects are wonderful, the acting is great and the nostalgia is wonderful! Although Johnny Depp is very missed as he did a wonderful job, Mass does a fantastic job doing justice to the character of grindelwald! Eddie Redmaynes portrayal of Newt is my favourite character in the Harry Potter universe and Jude Law portrays perfectly a young dumbeldore! I sincerely hope they continue make a fourth instalment as the team does a wonderful job!

Having read the Witcher books and played the game, I love the lore and world of this franchise! Therefore, when I heard a Netflix series was being made I was equal parts excited and suspicious as to wether the series would work as a show! I’m happy to say that it is awesome! Even though the series may stray in parts from the books and games, the changes that are made don’t affect the incredible character development and the deep lore and backstory of the world! This very much FEELS like the Witcher, and characters are casted in a way that does amazing justice to how they are portrayed in the game and book! Geralt, Ciri, Yen and Jaskier in particular are casted EXTRORDINARILY among many other fantastic casting decisions! I WAS a bit upset to see Triss, but that only because she strays a bit far from her appearance that I was particularly fond of in the game. As stated by many, my largest complaint with the series is not so much the changes made in the show that differ from the books and games, but rather I wasn’t the largest fan of how 3 separate arch’s are going at one instant. I DO however realize that this was done to develop character background, so I’m not all that bothered by it. Realistically, so long as the characters are being done well and development is happening I’m happy! I hope that future seasons will ensure that they continue to develop our characters as well as they were developed in this past season! After all, the beauty of the Witcher IS the world and incredibley detailed and diverse characters that fill it! So if they continue to adapt a slow but detailed pace, ensuring they don’t rush character development, I will be super happy! Defs watch it!
