I loved this book. The setting particularly resonated with me as I, too, studied at Cambridge 35 years ago and then lived there for a number of years. I was a fan of The Silent Patient and was worried that his second book would be a disappointment. However it was a delight. He is very quick to establish the central characters and soon draws you into their world. I was really interested in the plot and what was actually going on and who the perpetrator was. There were many twists and turns along the way but the ending took me by surprise. I was sorry to finish it as it was written in a way that engaged me from the start. I shall be excited to read his next novel and hope it is as good as his first two have been.
