Something about it just works so well, the mix of weird and crazy somehow blend together perfectly creating a world that is fun to watch the characters interact with!
And the dynamic of the two main characters works extremely well, it is the tried and true one moody and down character accompanied by a positive and happy character!

This is one of the first books that I read from this genre, and now, much later, with experience I can look back on it and say that it hits every beat that defines the dungeon core stories perfectly.
I would go as far as to say that it handles the adventurers / dungeon town better then a good number of other famous books, as it doesn't forget what the story is supposed to be actually about, the dungeon core and its dungeon.
I would recommend this book to any even slightly interested in dungeon core stories, as it should be able to satisfy people who have already read 10s of books in this genre and beginners who are just testing the waters.
