A great feat in cinematic effect but the focus seemed heavy on realism which made it lack overall pizzazz and heart. If you grew up watching the original animation, you’re going to miss its unique humor and hauntingly dramatic musical score (hello, Elton John?) Every character seemed one inch short of where they should’ve been: Mufasa’s kingliness, Zazu’s showboating, Scar’s dark humor and even the hyenas’ silliness. Kudos though to Nala’s (Beyoncé’s) more prominent role as warrior princess👍🏻
