If you're on the fence about watching it please read this: I gave this movie a watch even after reading all the iffy reviews on it and I don't regret my decision. The action was fantastic and the acting was very well done! The dialogue and interactions were quite funny and even endearing at times- not to mention the chemistry between the characters. As a Monster Hunter World player, I loved seeing even just a few monsters appear as they were extremely detailed and ferocious. Now, the thing I find unique about this movie that others took as a negative thing was the pacing. It starts off quite slow and stays that way for a good chunk of the time. Although, it allows for characters to explore and learn about their surroundings in a genuine way with the audience. It's also more about surviving and then overcoming than just hacking and slashing. Not to mention developing or establishing relationships with one another. Towards the end it starts to pick up the pace and you begin to find out more about what's been happening. I must say though- to each their own. Especially the critics. Overall, this is one of my favorite movies and I will definitely be rewatching it while I hope for a sequel. [Note: if you get queasy easily, be warned.]
