A movie is an imagination of both writer and director and there's no dearth of film makers who free their mind to imagine things that are amazing.
Enakkul Oruvan is a classic example of how far a director can think. Inspired from the original Kannada movie Lucia, the movie talks about the deep-rooted psychological problem of human life which is to compare themselves with others. By comparing ourselves with others, we find it difficult to feel satisfaction, no matter how successful we are. Humans have a tendency to find others' lives interesting doesn't matter how miserable the others are. When we don't get the things we are craving for, we start imagining them frequently. We try to live the life in a dream for the sake of our happiness. The crave for dual life can force us to do anything.
Although the makers have taken inspiration from Hollywood movie Inception, the story is completely different. Often Psychological thrillers tend to be slow, but this one stands out from them. The entire movie is engaging from the start to end, and the most interesting part is the songs. Usually, in Indian cinemas, songs are mostly unrelated and focus on entertainment. Whereas in this movie, they are related to the story, and one has to watch them carefully to understand what's going on.
Viewers are advised to watch it till the end. Believe me, you won't be disappointed. The ending will blow your mind and force you to rethink about your life. After watching it, you will surely question about your own reality.
Indian cinema hardly makes movies that are purely focusing on storytelling, visually appealing, and engaging. This movie fulfills all the criteria. I wish this movie gets the recognition it deserves.
