The Poet portrays the struggles of a complicated man being pulled in many different directions. As oppose to other books that fill up their pages with fluff and unnecessary dialogue or description, The Poet is a true adrenaline rush from start to finish. I love how it's written like a movie, with no lapses in excitement or drama. Raymond pours emotion and energy into every conversation, every memory, and every action scene. The Poet is a true masterpiece of thrill and tragedy, and is the perfect length as to not turn young readers away from bulkier, "fluffier" literature.
