The beautifully crafted atmosphere was always what drew me to Metroid games. Here the music and environments are forgettable, Berenia being an exception. The battles have the feel of a Doom firefight, all brute speed and explosions rather than positioning and agility. It's great if you like that. I feel like Metroid's soul has died.

This is a beautiful, atmospheric freeware game that's as simple as games get; explore the environments, collect items. There are a lot of secrets hidden throughout, as well as interesting and surprising places. It's incredibly relaxing and wholesome. I would very much recommend this game.

I can't say enough good about this game. It's more than you think it is. Play it. It's very unexpected, in all good ways. Don't look much up, you could spoil something ;)

This game is one of my favorites. Almost 20 years later, nothing comes close to the sense of exploration and discovery this game provides. Excellent.
