Delightful and fun -This was a surprisingly good movie for kids and nostalgic adults alike. It plays out a lot like Wreck it Ralph and has a great message, "Never give up!" The story was very weak, but one can tell they stuck closely to the game and did not vary wildly from the character's personalities. Anya Taylor-Joy did a great job as Peach and Jack Black put a lot of himself into his role as Bowser. Chris Pratt played his usual underestimated but determined hero. I can't imagine anyone other than Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong. It was a little disturbing that death is referred to in a kids movie instead of just the standard euphemisms like destroying someone or getting rid of them. The one post-credit scene bodes well for a sequel.
