With movies now made or broken by trial by media, even prior to release, I went with a single hope. That hope being, that this movie wouldn’t be the bomb critics and fans had announced..... the verdict, .. forget the critics. Forget the trolls. This is once again another solid offering from marvel. It’s fun, with out the alleged feminist preaching which was the main online criticism. Shame on you trolls. Again the supposed convoluted nature of the story, another criticism levelled by an increasing hostile fan base, did not exist. Without any spoilers, it is difficult to point out the many good parts of this movie. The online trolling revolving around the fact that a woman could be the single most powerful character in the MCU, began to reach fever pitch, with many calling it feminist propaganda.
If, portraying a strong woman character, who embodies the virtue of believing in yourself, regardless of those who wish you to fail, is feminist propaganda?.. then I say we need more feminist propaganda. Both the star and co stars have that quintessential element necessary for a great hero movie. Grit, integrity and a moral centre. These virtues transcend race, creed and gender. Bravo. I,for one will go again. Oh the male characters work as well. To quote both Ferris Beuller/Deadpool..Go.
