The show fails to deliver the payoff it promised in the first episode, as if they were uncertain what promise was supposed to be. In an effort to balance out the sexes, the show runner failed to understand the power of balance the author wrote into the story. While several scenes written specifically for the show were excellent additions, most of the extra scenes over explained characters, or, in some cases, needlessly altered the story in irreversible ways. After delivering the payoff in episode 7, the 8th episode fell flat. Almost none of the characters are efficiently or effectively utilized. A terrible disappointment. What a waste of great acting and mountains of cash. Can there be hope that season 2 will deliver what season 1 failed miserably attempting?
