Personally I think they should not have included the music and dance. I didn’t really enjoy it and it didn’t fit the movie. Sia could have just done them separate. The dance is kinda too artsy to really be appealing IMO. Sia has faced a lot of criticism for have an non autistic actress. TBH I think she actually harmed herself too by doing this. The character isn’t really believable and honestly is just there as glue to hold the plot together. At the same time it shows very dangerous and archaic things such as prime restraint to be normal... many autistic people have died from the use of such techniques. It’s just... weird. It comes off as the worst parts of ignorant wealthy person thinks they are super forward thinking for including an autistic character. The other annoying thing is through the movie they speak out what is going on instead of showing it. The characters basically narrate the movie... I wish some of it had been just acted out. And some thing seems to happen lightening fast without the plot really leading up to it. Again if they’d left the music out maybe they could have spent more time on the plot. Songs were never really relevant to the movie.
