Super suspenseful with Robert Mitchum being everyone's worst nightmare as he terrorizes Gregory Peck's family to avenge his prison experience. Physical confrontations are incredibly violent and realistic. Palpably hair raising anxiety for many viewers.Superb screenplay and acting.
