I'm rather confused, and I don't think that's a good thing.
The first episode is very well done. Roots of the story were placed and I felt as if each character belonged. I only wish the whole movie was placed around this family with an extended story. Animation is charming and has a Tim Burton vibe to it.
For the second episode, I could only bare through this. Felt a bit too messy for me but felt like I came away confused. Not the type of confused as in multiple scenarios proposed and picking one, but rather thinking what on earth did I just watch. Story had no roots. Dancing bugs made no sense. House didn't feel powerful or mysterious. Animation cannot be faulted though.
I had to turn off the third episode 12 minutes in. I couldn't bare it much longer. Did not understand why animals were people at all still, no backstory. From the time I watched, it was drawn out.
Personally I would highly recommend the first episode but cut the rest. It left me more disappointed, as the animation is so rare nowadays and magical but the execution of the stories and characters (in the last 2 episodes) was grim.
