Short but sweet. I wish it went on for 3 hours, but I guess they factored in the attention span of kids. I watched the 1st Mario movie in theatres back in the 90s. While watching this one I couldn't stop thinking about how I wish this was what I got as a kid back then. I'm actually glad though, because Jack Black's Bowser was worth the wait! lol

I wanted this game but didn't get it right away, with modern games having an input lag problem I struggle to enjoy them and keep getting frustrated spending money on something that just feels bad to play. I finally got 20XX on EpicGames on PC and became shocked from how responsive it was, and how great it felt to play. I thought to myself, this feels like someone wrote it from scratch in C! (I'm a C programmer myself.) I had to go and search about the development to see if they used one of these popular game engines or what because if they used a popular game engine I was going to be amazed and have a bit of a change of heart towards them. Though just as I thought it felt, I found out they made the game from scratch in C++. I enjoyed the game and found it very amusing and addictive. My favorite aspect is the speed at which you can precisely move in the game. I love feeling agile. Trying to think of the cons, the thing I liked least perhaps would be, I struggled sometimes to understand what was happening on the screen when a lot of explosions or animations was happening, and also wasn't sure if I was getting hit or not in the midst of some chaos. Maybe I would have liked to see more clearly defined objects, maybe some outlines to assist. I'm so impressed I'm going to follow the developers and support their work.

If you're thinking about playing this game, avoid spoilers if possible!] I got the original version on Gameboy when I was a child and spent so many hours in the game world trying to complete it. It has always been 1 of my favorite games out of all I've ever played. It took me years to finally beat the game on Gameboy, I had to wait to grow up some more before I could solve some of the mysteries on the island.(I was born in '87) Still to this day even for adults I would consider the game not an easy run through, which is a good thing in my opinion to help you immerse in the surreal game world, unfortunately with internet and low self control of people today, they probably just look up everything when they're stuck. Try to never do that if you play this game because what you're really getting with this game is a unique experience, and once you complete the game the window of opportunity for that experience is over and you can never go back to feel things the same way. Intentionally take your time, explore, interact with people on the island at various stages of your adventure, and delay completing your adventure as if you'd rather just become a permanent resident there than even finish your quest. I bought the 2019 Switch version the day it was released, even knowing it was almost entirely the same game just in beautiful 3D. The 2019 version is amazing. I'm not sure if it has the same degree of surreal mysterious vibes to it as the Gameboy version back in those days but it's of unbelievable quality and made me love the game even more. I would recommend this to every Switch owner! I think I will always consider this Nintendo's "Magnum Opus". EDIT: There is a secret ending, you can only see it if your game has 0 deaths on the save file. I think that's important information for anyone before they commit to this game, and more of a reason to take your time and power up before running through all of the battles.

This expansion made Splatoon 2 for me. I would have bought Splatoon 2 just to play this expansion.

Years ago when it showed up on Netflix in the U.S., I was looking for something new to play while I got sleepy for the night and seen it and thought it looked interesting enough to give it a try. I was so happy that I came across it, from the very 1st episode it was 1 of my favorite tv shows. I loved the characters and the atmosphere of it. I decided to use my will power and watch an episode per night so I didn't stay up too late binge watching. At that time I thought it was like other shows on Netflix that went on for multiple seasons but to my horror after a few nights I noticed the entire series was only six episodes long... To this day I'm still upset over it whenever I think about it.
