I love Broadway musicals and have not been a fan of many movie remakes which made me skeptical of this one. My daughters had seen the play but I wasn't able to go so I didn't have that perspective going in. I have to say that the move far outweighed my expectations. From the very beginning of the movie I felt the emotions of Evan and when Ben Platt sang "Waving Through a Window" the tears came and didn't stop until the lights came on. Ben Platt played the part to perfection (who would have expected less?) and I never looked at him and thought he didn't look like a teenager. He's that good! My daughter said she enjoyed the movie more than the play because she felt like she was immersed in the experience. She did say that she felt like the exclusion of "Good for You" was a misstep and it would have added to the story, but it didn't take away from the film. Please don't let the comments regarding Ben Platt's age or the missing songs keep you from seeing this movie. It was exceptional. P.S. Amy Adams was incredible!!!
