This was one of the best books I've ever read.
When I read it, I was like "Selah's like me!" She loves dragons, a hyperfixation of mine since the 4th grade. She KNOWS what sensory overload is like; to cry in pain at all the sounds of a world not built for you. The bullying and feeling like a dragon all the time and having to hide it - that is real too. This book gave me the courage to talk to my parents about the possibility of being autistic. Now I am getting assessed!
I'm not broken, and neither is Selah. We are different, but a good kind of different.
