Helena O'Sullivan

A fan of 'Vera', so when Ann Cleeves discussed her new book on morning tv I immediately sought it out. Mathew Venn isn't the most sympathetic character initially. He becomes a tad more likeable as the mystery progresses. I enjoyed the read. It will be very interesting to see it translated to a TV series. The book describes a closed, tight, zenophobic community in Devon, also not particularly likeable but definitely interesting and complex. The convoluted crime resolution is definitely different and I will look out for her next book in this series.
