A masterpiece. The art direction, the plot line, the historical backdrop, the development of the characters… so well thought out and meticulously crafted. I cannot think of a more interesting time in European history.. it covers every socioeconomic lifestyle of that era to the tea. The costumes and the interiors made me swoon, and the cameo appearance of Bryan Ferry sent me over the edge. I lived in NYC during the 1980s. Something about it seems tied to that as well as the nightclub could almost be studio 54! I loved the added element of analysis, as this was the epoch of Freud and Jung .. very significant developments in western culture.. I could go on! I have watched it twice! And will return to it again!!! Charlotte Ritter totally got me as her performance was so believable..every actor in it did an amazing job. I cannot image the work and money it took to create this. It truly captures the era in which it portrays.
