Overall a great movie. I went into it knowing nothing of Oppenheimer other than his creation of the atomic bomb and his involvement in the Manhattan Project. The format in which the movie is shot is a little confusing, jumping back and forth a lot in both time and perspective, so definitely need to pay attention. I’ve seen it once and feel I need to see it a second time now knowing more to understand better. The movie is 3 hours long and moves quite slow. ALOT of dialogue and not much action. But this is a historical biopic, focusing on Oppenheimers life and not so much on the war. This is not a war action movie, its a political biography. Also, VERY loud at times and the score drowns out some dialogue which is frustrating. The sex scenes were very abrupt and out of place. There’s no emotional build up with Oppenheimers relationships to his lover or his wife. If there love story lines are important they should spent a little more time building an emotional investment. I was left feeling no sympathy, empathy, or any attachment to any of the women in this movie. Florence Pugh seems to be typecast as every movie I have seen with her, shes naked and sex is her main story line. Boring and unneccessary. Cillian Murphy does not disappoint, and is one of the most underrated actors of this generation. Perfect casting for Oppenheimer. I hope he finally gets the recognition he deserves! Robert Downey Jr, and Emily Blunt were also fantastic and I see Oscars for all 3 of them.

Minor Spoilers ahead… Overall, I would say this show was ok. Not terrible, not great, just ok. For seven, 45 minute episodes, it held my interest but definitely think it would have been better as a movie. Also, small plot holes throughout which drove me nuts. They track down an old professor of Owen’s to find out his real identity, and the guy can’t remember his name despite remembering specific details of a letter he wrote professing his love to his then girlfriend, and embarrassing him by hanging up a failing grade. Ridiculous. The fact money is kept under a bed, and then no one seemed the care when the money is missing, also so ridiculous. In a flashback scene to 1999, they are texting for help with a flat tire? Small details but still irritating. This show leaves more questions than answers. The daughter is annoying, and no one seems to do anything logical or say/explain anything. Everyone talks so vaguely and there is very little resolution. The ending was disappointing. I would recommend someone to watch it if they just want something to fill their time but definitely nothing worth swooning over. I love Jennifer Garner, but she’s done much better.
