This is probably my favorite Ghibli movie! I love rewatching it all the time, and it only gets better each time! I love the soundtrack and the characters. I think what made it my favorite is that there's no magic or supernatural stuff going on; it's a realistic story with a simple story that's just so easy to love. It romanticizes every day life and helps you find the beauty in ordinary, every day things. I love From Up on Poppy Hill with all of my heart <3 Even if the plot doesn't sound interesting to you, I definitely, DEFINITELY recommend watching. This is coming from someone who's other favorites are Howl's Moving Castle, The Secret World of Arrietty, and Ponyo. I usually prefer some magic and adventure in my stories, but this simple story is too endearing to NOT love wholeheartedly.
