The first word that came to my mind while watching Kuberaa is ANGUISH. Kuberaa is Sekhar Kammula's anguish. His anguish on society, capitalism, casteism, inequity, justice, and disrespect. That word especially came to my mind while listening to the lyrics of Poyiraa Mama, the one where he tells, "You don't have to get up and salute, even if PM or CM comes." Kuberaa is a very powerful movie! It is very RAW. It is so raw that it's brutal. Sekhar Kammula is a brutal being. He made me cry twice in the first 20 minutes of the movie itself. It is so raw that it reminds me of Maharaja's closing and Virata Parvam's opening. One thing is for sure. Sekhar Kammula is a BRAVE man and he won't shy away from speaking on any topic. Dhanush K Raja is a generational actor! He was born to perform! His smile in the beard look, the worry on his face throughout the movie, the innocence he carries, the voice modulation. Peak performance. Thanks to Sekhar Kammula for showing realism in his helplessness too. It was either his own brain or luck. I have formed a theory after watching The Brutalist. Skinny guys, when they perform, the emotions come through beautifully on the face. Dhanush just proves me right. Rashmika Mandanna is just the best. Getting all the good roles is not her luck but her hard work, dedication, and performance. She brings the lightness in the movie and delivers the best moment in the end. That moment is my most favorite. When she puts a coin, turns back, and gives a smirk. I had the hugest grin on my face. THE MOMENT! Only and only more power to her! Thank you guys for actually performing in garbage. That's the dedication we love :) Nagarjuna garu and Jim Sarbh both deliver! I wish there were more scenes for Nagarjuna garu to establish both the losing trust in the system and his character arc. Wish it was more solid on this front. There’s a small moment I'd like to appreciate. When Dhanush is taking a bath near that pipe, there's "Save Water" painted on the wall. I'm guessing it was a deliberate decision. Love such small details. Anyways, this movie is nothing without DSP. What a guy! Such talent! Supreme! I knew I was in for a treat the very first time the BGM plays in the opening scene.
