I thought it was brilliant. Insert "I'm a huge Harry Potter world fan" here, I am, and I noted a lot of the reviews with this in were disappointed fans, personally that puzzles me. Personally, I welcomed the Grindelwald change, Mads Mikkelsen executed the portrayal perfectly. I had no huge distaste for Depps version, but I much prefer Mikkelsen. The film had such a balance between heartfelt moments, humour and darkness - and of course, adorable fantastic beasts! The exploration of the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald was done with finesse and both Mads and Jude showed that on screen connection. I enjoyed Judes nod to Gambons Dumbledore, giving an Irish twang to certain words and phrases on occasion, making it more believable that he is the younger Dumbledore we all know well.
