I wish that this show were about the news. It certainly used to be. Perhaps in search of better ratings, segments, including the Vlad Dutiers' presentation of "things we think you will be talking about today" and the "stories from around the table" regularly devolve into talk/laugh overs - something having nothing to do with news. Gayle King interrupts at every chance with self-ingratiating comments. Anthony Mason is a valuable resource with his encyclopedic knowledge of the music game, but his laugh blocks out so much of what you would like to hear when someone else is talking. Tony Dokoupil feels compelled to try to keep up with his own commentary. Where is the news in any of that? The best thing that can be said about this CBS This Morning is that it is not Today or GMA.
