It seems that these days that when any series is panned by its audience, the PR machine manages to make out that its because unreasonable fans of the source material are review 'bombing' the show.
Well, I'm not a fan of the books. I did read the first four after seeing the first series on Netflix and I was pretty underwhelmed. I did really like Netflix's season 1. Season 2 was a massive let down. This piece of garbage was even worse.
Why?
The whole thing feels rushed. The story leaps around trying to cram in as much as possible in a short time leaving the viewer struggling to care about what is going on.
The characters are all massive cliches and fail to bring anything new or interesting to the fantasy genre - it feels like a bunch of teenagers brainstormed them during their middle school lunch break.
Without interesting characters or a compelling plot, the audience are left wondering what is the point? I can't believe this has been written by supposedly professional screen writers and no one stopped and thought - hang on, is anyone going to like this. Because sorry Netflix, it's not unreasonable book fans who hate this.
People hate this because it is truly, truly awful, and when you started off with Witcher Season One, you should understand that your audience now have very reasonable expectations!
